The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Party
Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in power within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and revealed the first table of characters who will split off from the central cast to embark on their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a intense opening clash with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his own means, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and fled to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their status as key figures in the influential clan could assist the party reach places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- The rogue and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Explorers and Schemers tables.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which characters will be in which group in the story’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
