Major Russian Attacks Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital
Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.
Several individuals were wounded while residents in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.
Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was lost their life in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.
Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "concrete actions" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.
"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the Group of Seven - in delivering protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.
Officials stated that 450 drones and more than 30 projectiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.
The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were working to fix the damage.
A series of attacks hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.
Several of the people injured in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.
Local officials said the urban area experienced significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and several individuals were hurt.
The assaults come after nights of air raids in the area, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.
The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are more difficult to identify.
National leaders told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the national power system, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.
Officials stated utility staff and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
