2K Brings Onboard Apex Legends Developer to Boost Troubled Hero Shooter Ambitious Title
2K Games has welcomed a seasoned producer from the creators of Apex Legends to lead the development team at their internal studio, which is currently working on the forthcoming third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as this innovative game.
Management Shift Comes After Poor Feedback
Brinkman assumes the leadership position at the development studio following the dismissal of former leader Michael Condrey, who was removed from his post due to the game's disappointing early showing last autumn.
Recently, 2K president David Ismailer informed team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which highlighted that playtesting had shown the necessity for a more defined game identity.
The president noted that the developers is now overhauling the project with a revised approach, aiming to satisfy community desires.
A Pattern of Key Acquisitions
This announcement echoes a similar step taken by the publisher in the summer, when they recruited Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to assist with the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.
Below is the complete text from the president's communication:

The trust in this project increases every day. To advance the outstanding advancement you’ve made, It is a pleasure to announce Ben Brinkman as the new Studio Head of the team. After several months of discussions, he comes aboard us on next week.
